KEN WANG Executive Director - China
Ken Wang has been appointed Vice President & General Manager of China Operations by Celestial Pictures since March 2004, and Executive Director, ASTRO ALL ASIA NETWORKS China Operations in 2007; Ken Wang is based in Beijing and responsible for developing and implementing the Group's businesses relating to China.
Prior to joining Celestial Pictures, Ken Wang was the Chief Representative of AOL China, based in Beijing. Mr. Wang was responsible for AOL's operations in China, and is part of AOLTW China Business Council. Ken was responsible for AOL's USD 200 million JV with Lenovo. AOL Time Warner is the world's first Internet-powered media and communications company, whose industry-leading businesses include interactive services, cable systems, publishing, music, networks and filmed entertainment.
Ken Wang was previously Chief Representative of Sprint China. Ken secured opportunities with China Telecom including 9 system integration projects and building the first internet gateways in Shanghai and Beijing. Ken initiated and successfully closed the JV deal with China Unicom and Sumitomo to build a fixed-line telephone network in Tianjin. Sprint is the third largest telecommunication carrier in the United States.
Prior to moving to Beijing from New York City in 1994, Ken was heading the Sales and Marketing team under Sprint Business Management Group. Ken developed the business and gained inroad into Asian buiness community for Sprint.
Before moving to USA in 1989, Ken worked for the Ministry of Commerce after graduated from college with a BA degree in international marketing in 1986.
Born and raised in Beijing, Ken was graduated from Baruch College of New York City University with a MBA degree in 1991.
