Celestial Pictures owns the famed Shaw Brothers Film Library, the world’s largest Chinese-language film library. To date, Shaw Brothers titles have been distributed to over 100 countries on six continents with 530 titles released. Last year, to commemorate 100 years of Chinese films, movies from the Shaw library were honoured in a series of events across China and Hong Kong.
Since its launch in 2003, Celestial Movies has become one of the fastest-growing international pay-TV channels, with more than one million viewers in Malaysia, Brunei, Indonesia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Australia, Mainland China and Thailand.
Riding on the Shaw legacy, Celestial has jointly developed and published a series of books and documentaries on Shaw films, and licensed Kung Fu fashion attire and remakes of Shaw movies as well as toys and other merchandise. |
